An Opportunity For a FREE Math Camp 2024

At Math Plus Tutors our summer camp mission is to work with students on simplifying math concepts, and engage them in educational games that make math learning an enjoyable experience.

This summer we are excited to announce an opportunity for a few students to join MPT Math Camp FREE of charge! To qualify; the student needs to be:

  • From the following Age groups (Grades 1-3) or ( Grades 4-6)
  • Attend school at one of the Sarnia’s South end schools
  • Interested in learning and improving their math skills

To enter the draw, contact us to register your child (please include the following info: name, school, grade). Like and share this information on social media. Draw ends on Wednesday June 26. Winners will be announced during Mitton Village’s “Schools Out” event.

Summer School K-12

To combat summer learning loss, MPT offers you and your student additional academic support during the summer. We will help your student catch up on content, review material, finish a summer course or work ahead to better prepare themselves for the upcoming school year.

Summer school services are available for a limited time during the summer for the following programs:
• Summer School, grades 9-12 (July ONLY); get the help you need with your summer courses in a timely fashion. We offer support in the following subjects (math, physics, biology, chemistry, and English)

• Summer Catch-up, Grades K-6; A one-on0one help for your child in reading, writing, and math offered twice/three times a week to tackle any gaps in their curriculum, and sharpen their learning skills

• Creative Writing for grades K-6; a comprehensive workshop that focuses on using remedial activities to improve gross and fine motor skills. Three workshops are available for beginners targeting fine motor, printing, and gross motor skills

• High School Prep, Grades 7-8; to prepare your students for high school expectations in Math, Science, and English

Please note that K-8 programs are offered for 3 or 6 weeks intensive one-on-one delivery model with the exception of the Creative Writing program (which is done in a small group setting on weekly basis).

MPT Partnering with County Of Lambton YRASP

MPT is working hard to find new opportunities for your child and alleviate some of the associated cost as well. We are pleased to announce that starting March 2024, MPT is partnering with the County of Lambton Children Services YRASP program. This simply means you are able to use your YRASP funds towards purchasing one or more of our services. Eligible services for children ages 5-13 include the following programs:

Day Camps and Clubs for children ages (5-13)

Math Plus Junior for grades (k-6)

High School Prep for grades (7-8)

Creative Writing for grades (k-6)

Ramadan Food Drive

We are currently experiencing the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting (sawm), prayer (salah), reflection, and community.

During this Blessed Month, we are collaborating with Sarnia Muslim Association  on a food drive to support The Inn of the Good Shepherd and the Women’s Interval Home in Sarnia.

The food drive runs from March 11th to April 7th. You may drop off your donations of food items during the following hours of operation (3:00pm – 6:00 pm, Monday – Thursday) at MPT Learning Centre.

March Break Camp Open for Registration

This camp is ideal for children ages 5-13 looking for a variety of activities over the week. It will run through March Break (March 11 – 15), from 9 am till 12 pm to give you a chance to do other activities, and spend some quality time with your family. Courageous Creativity Classes

MPT Featured on First Monday!

The past few years have proved to be somewhat difficult for many students. From
being in school, to closing schools, and trying to learn online . It’s no
wonder that many have struggled! Now that school is back in full force, we have
asked the kids and young adults to switch off the last two years, and wrap their
heads around being at their desk full-time, and this may come with challenges as
well. For any family that feels this struggle, there is a solution right here in Sarnia.

Dr. Sahar Nasr is the owner and director of Math Plus Tutors Learning
Centre (MPT). Sahar graduated with bachelors and master’s degree in nuclear
engineering from Alexandria University in Egypt. She later pursued her Ph.D. in
physics in London, Ontario at Western University, which ultimately led to her
immigration to Canada and settling in Sarnia with her husband and two young
